April, off to an awesome start.

I've made some changes in my life, and on the whole everything is grand.

1. I'm currently unemployed, but taking on small jobs as they come. I'm looking to work 4 days a week, and right now that's day to day which is fine. I've got one permanent job so far, sewing for forestbound. Awesome, yeah?

2. I'm trying to be more social, and that means when at 8pm Jerry says "I'm going to go to ________." I actually get off my ass and join him instead of being a wuss. This means making plans with people.

3. I'm staying SUPER positive and surrounding myself with positive people. There's no more time in my life for whiners. I'm also giving up on involving myself with people that aren't proactively interested in hanging out with me. I've wasted too much time on people that are not worth it. I am SICK of thinking "do they even like me?" and someone else saying "oh, that's just how they are"...if thats "just how they are", then why bother???? Also, people that only call when they need something? DONE. (fyi: if i OFFER to do something, its because i WANT to do it. i LIKE helping people. that doesn't give anyone the right to expect me to drop everything every time you call.)

4. I'm being WAY more proactive with my crafty life. I'm applying to everything I find that seems like fun and I can get to. Its the only way I can get back to a point of supporting myself crafting, so why wouldn't I? I was plenty successful before, so I know I can do it again.

for April, I'm joining in on the cataloguing purchases and NOT BUYING ANY SUPPLIES (thread is allowed). There's no way I'll post every day, so I'll do weekly updates.

Thursday, April 1: $0.
Friday, April 2: $10.67 at CVS on paper towels, rubber gloves, and easter candy BUT I had $10 CVS extra bucks so I only paid $.67
Saturday, April 3: $6 for Exacto blades (I'm arguing this is not a supply, but a tool and since they wear out, i HAD to buy them). $60 on a bottle of whiskey for awesome friends who got engaged on April fool's day! Jerry actually paid for this, but I was there and picked it out and WOULD have paid 1/2 if i had a job!
Sunday, April 4: $11 at Pizzeria Uno

So, last week I spent $17.67. Not bad!

for supply busting crafts/cleaning out craft room:

I made 10 headbands that went to Magpie, 2 to put on my etsy shop later
25 hair clips that also went to Magpie

I got together FOUR HUGE trash bags full of fabric to donate to a special needs group.
I donated my old sewing machine to a friend

I'm halfway through lots of other projects, but nothing done. I'm working on letterpressing with polymer plates, and OH MY GOD there are so many adjustments needed to make my letterpress print evenly!!! I spent about 6 hours doing that yesterday, and I THINK i'm there...I needed to walk away before I did any damage! I'll be walking down to the studio to test it in a bit. Pictures forthcoming on flickr if it works!
