Catching up - - -DVD edition

Last year when I got rid of my DVR I initially had trouble remembering to watch shows online, thus missing the latter half of a few shows and all of the final season of Battlestar Gallactica. I finished watching BG season 4.5 on DVD tonight.

Why did you get rid of your DVR?

Money. I thought the price for digital cable was ridiculous and I went down to a very basic plan. With so many shows online and coming out on DVD I decided to take my cable bill from over $70 to $14.

Man, I couldn't watch TV without my TiVo. Live TV = poking eyes out from so many commercials! But I wouldn't be happy if I was renting a DVR every month either, Time/Warner charges $6/month for their stupid remotes. We have a higher level just so we can get BBC America (Torchwood, Dr. Who, etc.) and some of the science channels. But yeah, cable prices are outrageous.

I love our DVR at home but I see in my near future when I live on my own, me going that route as well. In fact it is what I do at the dorm for some shows XD.

Glad you liked the end of BG. I did too, very nice wrap-up for everyone. And yeah, i hate paying time warner thru the nose, but I couldn't live without my cable and DVR either. (I have slow-to-annoying DSL, watching online is not always a good option for me.)
