Let's celebrate! My blog is 19 years old

without a beard I still look entirely too young…

lately i’ve been obsessed with the concept of time travel and the idea of relativity.

part of this is the webb telescope.

the idea that if we can create a telescope powerful enough we could see through to the beginning of the universe. we discover that our beginning, in some fashion, still exists. in perhaps more than one way we’re still experiencing it. constantly experiencing it. whether we recognize it or not, our bodies calculate the cost, our souls keep the ledger.

this means, in some small form, that our past is still present with us here, even now. for some this may be an obvious blessing. for others perhaps this is a silent curse.

but much like the background radiation traveling billions of light years to reach us, i’m uncertain that it needs to be evaluated in that manner.

like the Big Bang, our knowledge of it does not alter it, but our observation of the past can determine how we approach our future. we can update our heading, pack for emergencies, and resupply.

this journal likely holds value only to me, but it is an accounting of the birth of my universe. it’s my telescope that can cheat rules about the constant of space time and i can observe in it the truth of relativity; my vantage point and relative speed can allow me to relive, observe, and travel, unencumbered by the conventional flow of time.

i’ll let you know if i make it to 20 years.

present, hubble, future, webb, space time, time travel, new beginnings
