I spent yesterday and this morning reading The Time Traveler's Wife and I'm speechless. Excellent, amazing book. I need to digest it for a couple of days before I can say anything coherent and thoughtful about it, but I need to bestow my highest praise on it at the moment, which is that I wish I thought of it first. If you haven't read it yet, do so.
I've been on a time travel bent lately. I just reread Dirk Gentley's Detective Agency by Douglas Adams, which features time travel in a way that only Douglas Adams can manage. And of course, a lot of Doctor Who - in fanfic, old school episodes, and the Big Finish audios. Time travel never much interested me before, which is odd, since in a weird way, I deal with time on a daily basis, trying to convey the wonder of the ancient world to kids who can't think past lunch. And yet here I am, toying around with a time travel fan fic of my own (which may or may not be written, depending).
Also, it's been fun actually reading books instead of whatever comes across my friends list. I forgot how much I like being able to take one in the bath with me. Anybody have any good book recs?
