I heard back from Ann this morning from
Ann and Pete's Rescue (check out Amber about halfway down, I want that dog!). What a sweet letter. This is the good kind of unfinished business as my note to her was about a year overdue!
Hi Cecilia,
How wonderful to hear from you, especially with such a great up-date on the lovely Bella.
We are happy to know that adopting a pet from our rescue was a positive experience. We do our best to match people and pets.
It is sad in a way that there are still so many dogs in need of rescue. In truth, it is only the happy ending stories that keep us going and prevent us from getting too depressed by all the sad conditions surrounding most of the dogs who come to us. If people like yourselves didn't give a homeless dog a second chance we could not function effectively, nor could we place so many.
I'm glad you enjoy our web-site. I write most of the stories at this hour when the phone stops ringing and the pooches are sleeping. Every dog has a story which deserves to be told - although I might use a little poetic license in some cases, ha.
Thanks so much for your kind words and for providing Bella with such a loving, caring home. She is a lucky dog to have found you.
Best regards: Ann and Pete.
