It happens every year

This year a few of us trundled off to Sakuranomiya on the JR Osaka Loop Line to sit among the crowds and drink under fluffy pink blossom clouds. It was a rather gray day, but that doesn't stop it from always being enjoyable!

I was warned that this place would be packed and it was crowded, but we still managed to get a decent spot and nothing is nicer than being surrounded by friendly drunk Japanese!

Our small party came prepared with a bazillion tarps and practically no alcohol! That had to be fixed by a Lawsons run. We snacked on chips, fried sugar veggies, umeboshi, taiyaki, manju, and takoyaki. No wonder I'm not losing weight.

Before drinking this cider I drew in one eye of the daruma and made a wish to eat taiyaki...my wish came true! I plan to draw in the other eye any day now.

Kate and Zach make appropriate cherry blossom poses.

Er towards the middle...end...continuing drunkening we all started to try on Kate's fake bangs. I think I could pull of being blonde. What do ya think? (I know I know the V signs again...)

As were leaving a few guys came up to practice their English. Zach has a great video of the guy in blue beating his chest. Making random friends is what hanami parties are all about! We also met a cute firefighter who had arms of steel! Rawr!

Oh so you wanted to see a cherry blossom shot! I always think I am tired of sakura after being inundated from all corners during this season. But when you see them in person it's fresh love.
