there is no joy in Voorheesville...

I heard about this a week or two ago, but here's the TU's article:

My very first job was in the bakery at SuperValu when I was in high school.
I would hop the train tracks to get to work (it made a 15 minute walk only 5 minutes.)
Jim Nichols was one of the friendliest men I ever met and one of the nicest bosses. I was genuinely sad when he died. He was more than just a patriarch of the store, he was one of the most beloved men in town. Always friendly, helpful and active in the community, the village park was named for him after he died.
I never got along with Elaine. Ever. But Jaret was awesome, he and I used to dick around when I was working. That may be why Elaine and I never got along.
It was sad enough when SuperValu became Nichols, but at least it was still in the family. It becoming a Shop'N'Save? Blasphemy.
Voorheesville is no longer the town I knew it to be.
Very sad.
