I thought it might be natural causes....a hunter would've taken it, unless it was a stray bullet and he didn't realize he hit it? Anyway, it IS amazing!
Most hunters I know, assuming they hit it and it could still get away, would rather starve than live knowing the animal they hunted got away to suffer a slow death. Most track and track and track for days on end if they have to until they find the dead or wounded animal.
Well, I don't know about "most hunters you know", but the notion that hunters really care about animal suffering is simply a comforting fiction; most often told by people who have never actually gone hunting

Who said anything about gun ownership?! I've been a veg*n for most of my life, and I own three guns. That doesn't mean I'd ever choose to optionally try to kill animals with them, and certainly not while claiming that I actually cared about avoiding suffering. Even in a best-case scenario of a perfect shot, do the hunters you know cause ANY suffering, of ANY length of time to the animals they hunt? Of course they do. It's inevitable.
"Did I EVER say ANYTHING about "NO" suffering in my reply?"
You wrote "Most hunters I know...would rather starve than live knowing the animal they hunted got away to suffer a slow death. Most track and track and track for days on end if they have to until they find the dead or wounded animal."
So no, you never said "NO suffering". But apparently *some* suffering (after being shot, and/or while being tracked for days by the hunter) is acceptable to you. Glad you cleared that up.
So, how many kids will you have or have you had? Ever drive a car? Ever think how much pollution kids and cars put into the deers homes? But I guess that's okay, as long as the bullets aren't flying.
Let's take hunting out of the equation altogether then: is suffering by starvation from sheer overpopulation alright by you? I guess so.
Someone seems to be determined to make incorrect assumptions. Nope, no kids, and given that I've been snipped, it's never going to happen. So overpopulation isn't my contribution. I've been into ZPG since the late-'70s, thanks. And I mostly ride my bike, walk or take public transit here in SF where I live

I guess same goes for the people I know who have had to shoot their beloved pets to end their misery.

At least you got yourself snipped.
There is just as much if not more research put into the population control side of the fence, so nice try there.
And stop putting words in peoples mouths.
