For my introductory graduate seminar, I have to give one 15 minute talk per semester on a journal article of my choice. I presented my paper today. I talked for almost twenty minutes on why PP1 causes decreased retention of long-term memory. I don't know. I had to make a Powerpoint presentation, and I even used a laser pointer. I felt scientific.

Also, after taking questions (yes, I had to answer many questions about the article), I had to be criticized in front of the whole audience. And they filled out evaluation forms on me. I've never gotten such candid opinions about my public speaking.

"Leave your belt alone!"
"Some ums, but not major. I like that you're comfortable using hand gestures it [sic] made you appear both animated & confident."
"focus on one stream of thought-too much data"

and so on.

I just thought I'd share what's occupying my time.
