Hello! I'm looking at going back to school soon, and, after running across mention that there were programs for nontraditional students at some women's colleges, have begun to consider attending one of them if I can. I think I'd be far less distracted and far more likely to speak up in class in a women-only environment. (I'm pretty shy... my

As far as grades go, they are very good with understanding that different things come up. I had to take a semester off of college and then followed that semester up with some very terrible grades, and they were very understanding that i had things happening in my life that had to do with that.
Financially, it is somewhat of an expensive school, but I do believe it is much cheaper than mount holyoke, and much easier to get into. I have no idea what the application process is for life long learners however.
We have very renowned science, nursing and lit department, and offer most any major. As far as we are considered a woman's college we do have a few men that go there. As traditional students they are allowed in the science program because we offer majors that many other colleges do not. As for life long learners I don't think we are quiet as strict on what gender attends. But even though that's true, there's only about 1 to 2 males in any given class at a time.
I am a criminal justice and social work major, both majors that are geared more towards are life long learners, so if you have any questions feel free to contact me. My aim is dancerlbv, and my email is lbvermin@cedarcrest.edu I hope I helped with the decision, I know that not too many people hear of cedar crest college, even though I think it's such an amazing place.

I wandered over to the Cedar Crest livejournal community, and someone mentioned in a comment that science lectures can have 75-150 people in them. Is that accurate?

To answer the vegan question, we do have those options, but you'd be better off eating in the bistro if you want to be sure of what you get than the cafe. although, if you ask, telling them you are vegan, they will make special meals for you from what I've heard.

And as a side note... I saw in another post somewhere that you're a dance major or minor. How do you like CCC's dance program? I doubt I'd do more than take a class or two, but it's fun to think about. I miss dancing. :)

Another thing I forgot to mention, is if there is a class or minor/major you want to pursue, that Cedar Crest doesn't offer, we have a bridge program with some of the neighboring colleges where you can take classes there and still get the credit. (Muhlenburg College is less than a mile away) I think there's about 4 or 5 colleges in the area that you can take classes from if needed, and I'm sure there would be a way to arrange transportation to those colleges. It's kinda like the program Smith and Mount Holyoke and the rest of the seven sisters have.
