le ponder and introduction

Hello! My name's Sasha and I'm a high school senior, and I've been very interested in women's colleges as of late. It's kind of weird; I went from a "why would I want to attend a single-sex school?" mentality to a "wow, I'd really like to attend a single-sex school!" I guess I judged too quickly, eh?

Anyways, I've always attended public co-ed schools, and I suppose I'd like to try something different.
I come from a school with 2,400 students, so in some situations, the private colleges are smaller! When I told a friend of mine I was looking into "all-girls" schools, she just snorted and was all "omg you lesbian" and whatnot, but it's not like that at all...I tend to be intimidated by males, so I'm thinking an all-womens school would be better for me.
I'm not really into sports, and not interested in sororities too much, (my mind tends to be more active than my body, i suppose?) But I've been interested in private liberal arts schools (for women, of course).

Anyway, here are some questions I have...

-What are the main differences between co-ed and single-sex edjucation? If anyone has attended both co-ed and single-sex edjucation, which did you prefer? (I kind of already asked this over at randymac but I thought I should ask students who attend different women's colleges, too).

-Does anyone know of a single-sex liberal arts school that has a good art or film program? I was looking into Moore College of Art and Design, but I'm not sure if I could do everything-art related...yet it is still important to me. I'm also interested in film/cinema studies...not necessarily as a major, though.
:( I'm still trying to find my bearings...

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated! Thank you!
