"i'm not a big fan of crotches"

So today I woke up feeling a little bit bummed because, had it not been for an impromptu decision made by my dad and based upon crappy circumstances, my parents and I would have been leaving for the first family vacation we have been on in about 6 years. But then he decided to treat us to a trip to the mall to start shopping for school clothes, since my sister had the day off of work, which is a rare occasion anymore. And things got better:

Seeing puppies in the pet store that were a mixed breed of Jack Russells and Beagles, my favorite types of dogs, that were absolutely adorable

Buying cool clothes in Sears, including a jacket that has a monkey AND my last name on it

Eating at Friendly's in the food court, and making fun of my dad for talking about how he had yet to buy a ticket for the stag party he had been invited too. My sister and I were like...why should you have to pay money to get into a party someone else wants you to come to for them?? And then we reasoned that it was because stag party=bachelor party=strippers/exotic dancers=every man's idea of a good time. And then we figured that since it was THAT kind of party, it would probably be held at the rinky-dinky, redneck strip club that's just a few miles outside of Caniwood, where Alisha guessed there would be "dirtbag strippers with one tooth". Then, while we were eating, my sister started laughing hysterically at something my mom had said to her in annoyance for offering to pluck her gray hairs, and attempted about 8 times to tell us what it was. Laughter is definitely contagious in our family...first my mom joined in the maniacal laughing, then me, and finally my dad. It got so bad that we all had tears flowing down our faces...and then that reminded us of other family restaurant outings in which we had ended up doing the same thing (one in which my dad had a piece of lettuce plastered over one tooth that made it look like it was missing and gave him the appearance of a backwoods hick, and another in which my sister imitated the way my mom had slapped the table while laughing at something, and made me spew my drink all over), and that made us laugh even harder. I think our waitress was relieved to see us go.

Then, trying on clothes with Alisha at Deb, where we found a pair of pants that had buttons extending down almost the entire crotch, and where both stepped out of our dressing rooms in jeans that were tight enough to look like they were about to bust at the seams.

More clothes and laughs.

Ride home.

Dinner at 9:30 at night.

Beating Alisha at rummy 500 while watching Tuck Everlasting...sweet movie with a hott guy and the gorgeous actress from Gilmore Girls. I was struck by this quote: "Don't fear death, fear instead the unlived life"

Update

Question: When within the first two weeks of August would an NJ trip be most convenient for Stacie and Leslie???? :)
