Make-up That Actually Does Something

My last data point for functional make-up was in ancient Egypt with their use of copper-based eye shadow that was postulated to keep away various infections. Now, there is this:

Dazzle Paint Make-up

As mentioned in the article, dazzle paint is a camouflage scheme designed to disrupt visualization of the painted object. This make-up uses a similar idea to disrupt facial recognition software. It amuses me. Of course, since the level of disruption still let's most people recognize the underlying person, it's only a matter of time before some other level of escalation is necessary, and it would take a bit more work to disrupt the other method that relies upon the IR signature of the face, but there are ways to attack that as well. Still, I am pleased that there is a nice utilitarian make-up out there.
