1.2 on the Hobbes

In the ATIS voice, "Madison Airport is busy..." It was very busy. I've never had to execute a 360 right turn on FINAL before. Anyway, I'm on the path to getting myself current and put 1.2 hours in the cockpit w/a CFI. We covered slow flight, steep turns, and landings. Even after two years, I still made the test standards for the above, which does help. My first touch-and-go was fine but the full stop after that was executed a bit high off the runway. Both landings had a 9 kts x/w component, which didn't cause me undo issues. Things that are truly rusty? Commo - it doesn't help that I'm still used to one radio, single frequency, not a stack of two with switching capabilities. My ear/mind are not up to speed on catching all the nuances of the chatter, either. That will come with time. The worst issue? Nausea. The warmth and bumpiness of the flight put me in a difficult state. Keeping myself from being unduly unhappy took more concentration than I would like. I needed the CFI to keep things running smoothly. I just need to get my "air legs" back but that takes time. Still, it was nice to be flying again. It's still damned expensive. Why did I get into this??? Oh yeah, it's a blast!
