Fun cop stories for you to live vicariously through...

My interesting story last night: Right at the beginning of the shift, I got to arrest the bank robber's brother. Some State Troopers went there to interview him and they found out he had a warrant.

Exciting? No, of course not...that's not the big story.

Here's the good stuff )

Holy Moly! Thats really really drunk! Isn't it around .3 where damage can start occurring to the person?

Any normal person would have been dead or in a coma. .30+ is usually the danger zone where you want to have the person under medical observation just in case.

This guy probably wakes up "stone cold sober" at a .250 and he's 27 fucking years old. Seriously he was walking (stumbling) and talking (slurring and mumbling) at that insane level. My guess would've been in the .3's somewhere because he was obviously WAY drunk, but I never would've guessed that high because he was functioning.

It makes me sick that people will actually get behind a wheel like that.

Oh wow. Have you heard anything about the strict dui laws they've passed here? On your first dui now, regardless of level, you get one of those breathalizers put in your car. They are being really strict about it, and I'm freaking happy. I think we heard that in the week after Thanksgiving alone, there were something like 700 dui arrests. It's scary to drive at night because of these assholes!

Really, the best society can hope for in this case is that he kills himself from alcohol poisoning before he hurts anymore people.

That's insane! I've heard of higher BAC's recorded at the detox facility in Lincoln, but never for someone who was driving!

I'm gonna guess he'll go to prison, no judge can ignore that level (or his previous record).

At our jail if someone blows over a .30 they have to be taken to the hospital for medical clearance before we'll lodge 'em.

Boy do the cops hate it when that happens. :-P

Same with ours. That's why I had to sit at the hospital with him for another three hours.
