Mother Nature hates me and is trying to kill me.

Well, all the garlic and hot peppers in the Mongolian BBQ last night didn't help much, if at all, and neither did the General Tso's Chicken, which tasted kind of mild. Especially after the BBQ. So I picked up a dual pack of DayQuil and NyQuil gelcaps along with the half & half, yogurt and bread at Cub and went on home. Today has been simply miserable, and I expect tonight will be more of the same, despite pouring five liters of water into my gob and eating the DayQuils on schedule. I don't even want to think how I'd feel without the drugs.

Ideally, I'd just go home, suck up some chicken soup and go straight to bed, but since I need to refuel the Kia and pick up a prescription at Walgreens, I might as well hit the Best Buy on the way home to do some Christmas shopping, ditto the WalMart. There I will buy a new bread machine, since the old one is not only dead but at phoenixalpha's place. Finally, another stop at the Cub if WalMart doesn't have all the ingredients I need for Irish Cake. I'm afraid I asked my cousin Kathy (who is, thank Gates, finally online) for the wrong recipe, since the one she e-mailed me looks nothing like the one I remember, but I found something on allrecipes.com that looks close. We'll find out, I guess...hard to screw up Irish Cake, since it's basically just glorified raisin bread, but I'd like to get this right.

So coming home to die will have to wait for tomorrow, and I'll have to wash a shirt by hand tonight since I'm in no shape to do laundry. Bleah.
