I'm hardly anonymous. A few seconds worth of Internet detective work would reveal my actual name, but if you want to use that as a pretext to deprecate the entire essay, that's just fine with me

I was there. A nominee. The whole ceremony was a mockery and middle finger to nominees. Everyone was tainted by it...winners, losers, audience. What an embarrassment. And as for Gerrold, he was openly anti-puppy and even at one point said he'd keep Torgersen from ever winning a Hugo, a post which he wuickly erased and denied but many witnessed. Gerrold's protestations were completely unauthentic.
