I'm not fond of every nominated story but they're averaging better than the previous couple of years.

That's my take on it as well. Be interesting to see how it all breaks down Saturday night - could be the most attention Worldcon's gotten in decades.

Read it, liked it (even though it really annoyed me with its implications for some stories I'm writing) and I voted it #3 in the category. I admit to ranking Mike Williamson and John Wright 1 and 2 partially out of spite and partially for the lulz - Wright's "The Desolation of Tolkien" literally hurt, it was that funny.
