I know that I'm ruining the joke, but there's always Julian Bashir from Deep Space 9, although he, like his actor is as much a Brit as he is an Arab.

On literally another note (I love the music), your posting on this subject reminds me of one of my favorite movie finales. I think it's not only appropriate for the topic, but for you.

As for the movie - wow. I need to watch the whole thing now. Hollywood used to do such a good job of showing the glorious legend instead of the greasy, dirty reality; kinda wish they'd do more of that.

I do plan on reading the sequels to A Desert Called Peace; there are characters from that book I care about enough to want to find out what happened to them.
