Stayed up last night to listen to Game Six of the World Series after accounting class. Good God, what a mess...there was plenty of action, but from the level of skill exhibited by both teams, I could easily have mistaken it for a Prairie League game. I gave up on baseball last century, in the year of the strike; but I recall a joke from the period when I still followed it.

Q ) What do (whatever team most recently pissed you off) and Michael Jackson have in common?

in post game analysis it was pointed up that a lot of the walks are deliberate, that the Rangers were working to "pitch around" key Cardinals, and that it backfired as shown by an analysis of how many of the RBIs were those intentionally walked guys.

Baseball is not my game, but I can see how a strategy like that could work, or backfire, depending on a lot of stuff.

Game 6 was INSANE by the way - for someone who is not a baseball guy looking for the details, most exciting baseball game I have ever heard in my life (heard the last half or so in the car)

Maybe so, but it seemed that a lot of pitchers for both teams couldn't find the strike zone with any consistency.

You should try and find the videos for Game 6 of the '91 Series. Now THAT was a ball game. :)
