So, if Germany doesn't work out then I can always move to Boston. I got an email earlier today about a prof. at Boston University looking for a MSc or PhD student in geochemistry next year. So I say, "why not, I'll send him an email." He gets back to me about 9pm with this:
"Hello Sara, er, "Wombat":
Great email address! I like it!....presumably you do, as well, so I hope I'm not being
too forward. :-)
Your record looks dynamite, and I'm very interested to learn more. Let's start a
dialogue. I presume Phil forwarded on my entire message, so you sort of have some idea of
what I'm up to. To fill in the blanks even more, I'm here attaching my full vitae for
you to look over. Let me know if you want any of the papers, as I have pdfs of most, and
can send them your way if you don't have library access.
Yup, I'm a sediment and particle chemist. There are a bunch of different projects we
could work on together..."
Wow... well, at least I know that I'm 'dynamite' and I have a cool nickname. Oh and did I mention, I may get to work in the Arctic or the Galapagos Islands? Schweet...
