Most of my flist come from three main fandoms, I was just wondering how much you are still involved in them, if at all.

It's the strangest thing about Supernatural: Emi and I both love it, but we just haven't involved ourselves in fandom at all the way we have with Buffy and Who. I do have an idea to involve the brothers in a fanfic, but fanfic writing has been so sparse for me lately that I might never get to it.

The SPN fandom can be quite difficult, it does seem to attract people with strong opinions.

There are other pairings than wincest with Sam/Cean, Sam/John, Dean/John, or some combination of them. It even effects het with Sam/Mary, Dean/Mary.

Het Pairings
Sam/Jess, Sam/Sarah, Dean/Chole, Dean/Bella, Sam/Ruby, Sam/Bella, Dean/Ruby, Dean/Jo.

Other Slash Pairings
Dean/Castiel (a massive pairing), Sam/Gabriel With various pairings involving Castiel, Gabriel, Lucifer and Micheal.

Femslash
Ruby/Bela

I have assumed that you have seem all the episodes up to now and know who everyone is.

I'm caught up! I think I've missed two or three over the years -- my daughter and I deliberately decided not to watch the "bug" episode from S1, although now we kind of regret that.

Personally, as a straight male, I can understand why people want to pair characters with Castiel!

As a straight female, I cannot see the point in pairing Castiel up with anyone until they give him a personality. I wish they would give him a beefier role, and use Misha's talents better

But I kind of like his lack of personality -- the way he blunders through life, figuring things out (or not) as he goes along and being generally otherworldly. I like the idea of seeing him slowly pick up a personality of his own as he goes along.

I just find him kind of dull, and don't have enough interest to read him in fanfic.

Weird, I feel like we're talking about two different characters; I think he's great fun to watch the befuddled way he stumbles through the world. Then again, that kind of character would be more interesting to watch than to read, so I don't think he'd do well in fanfic, either.

I would just like to see him adapting more, rather than the bewildered comic relief. Feel they could do more with him.

From a characterization standpoint, what you say makes sense. I mean, he's age-old, isn't he? You'd think he would already know the way a lot of things work down here!

Yes, I feel he is static. Then Eric is not a master at Character Development like Joss was during BtVS and AtS, *sigh*
