my thought on last night episode of H5-0
Wow, I was so glad to have the team back, that quite frankly, I'm pretty sure they could have made an only paperwork episode, and I would still have been glad ^^. Other than that, I really enjoyed it, a lot of fun moments, as usual. I was good to see the partnerships a bit mixed up, I had the feeling that it has been a while since Kono and Danny interacted, and well, they came back with a boom.
Pushy is the key word here with Kaye and the way she was introduced, in my opinion. I don't know, it was kinda weird... it seems like the writer are not very sure if they want her to be a love interest, and with who, so they tested the water, first with Danny and the "one on one time" (gosh, he really need to get laid lol) and then with Steve, who just used the same sentence, the whole "we're gonna get along great"... Plus the fact that the story with her fiance happened 3 years ago, which kinda the ideal amount of time to say "okay, it's been quite a long time, even if she still feel guilty and want to catch Wo Fat, she can move on with her love life without being a bitch ^^ I am a bit skeptical about all that, because even if I found her really cute, and I think that she have a lot of potential, with her back-story and what she can bring to the McGarett investigation, and comic relief with the 'geek who want to be a agent" thingy, I really don't think there was a lot of chemistry between them, especially compared to the "interactions" between Cath and Steve. And of course Steve and Danno, but as I am sure that the writers like to play with our imagination, it's pretty certain that they won't go down that road, or maybe, like in the serie final, and not much more than a big hint and a fade to black... That's why the friends-with-benefits story is ideal for McGarett .
Also, as I said earlier, I did find Jenna cutie as a pie, but I don't really bought the way Danny was all "WHO's that", because she's more the girl next door type than the turning head type... But then again, Danno only saw her in a suit, trying to look tough, and I am fairly certain that Danny have a really distinct thing for women who can kick his ass XD. I have to admit, though, that I'm a bit divided on this particular point, because as a, you know, average, kinda geeky girl, it could be cool to see the "nice" girl get the guy from time to time, but I'm not sure it would work with this particular character ..
So, yeah, in the end, I didn't hate Jenna. Another feminine presence could be good for the team, as well as fresh blood, but I not convinced yet that she's the answer. And definitely not as a love interest, but then again, maybe she's going to shine in her next episodes, and I'm going to love her, but so far, not really. I'm going to have to sit tight and see where it's going.
