[Sarea doesn't speak when the journal first starts broadcasting, though she obviously meant for it to start as there's a 'thump' as it hits the ground and wolf mumbles something. What sounds like a bow-string being pulled sounds and then the 'twang' of it being released broadcasts before she speaks.]

[Talia holds herself well because life has taught her to do such. A Herald that could not maintain their composure did not often last long in front of the court, and that was not a courtesy the empath had at any point. Even so, she never passes judgment on anyone solely due to the way they present themselves; such would lead one more often than not to an unpleasant surprise.

She watches the younger girl, noting the fidgeting and general sense of unease about her; all without reading her emotions. Body language was as big a tell for the empath as actually reading the emotions of those around her. She knew Sarea was nervous and trying to approach whatever she wanted to say carefully and in as polite a manner as possible.

She offers a soft smile as Sarea talks about her brother, but the conversation takes an abrupt swing then and Talia relaxes her weight onto one hip, chafing her hands up and over her arms lightly.]

It's bad, Rea. If he is not with me or someone else, then you will find him in one of the Keep taverns. He is always drinking, even if no one else around him is doing so. I helped him while he was healing from the loss of his daughter, when he drank to lose himself in his feelings and just let himself be numb. This is not the same... he drinks as if there is no option not to. He drinks simply to drink, but he does it in such excess that I fear for him.

[She sighs and shakes her head, hazel gaze finding Sarea's own eyes.]

He doesn't see that there is any problem with drinking himself into a daily stupor, or at least trying to. He seems to believe that as long as he can function, that there is no problem and no reason to quit drinking.

[Wolf lets her arms fall to her sides for the moment, bow in one hand and the other clenching uncertainly. Talia seems much less imposing now, as she's made no threatening moves and isn't giving off any strange scents.

Body language plays a big part in her understanding of others, as well, but scent always carries with it the true tone of a persons intentions, and Talia's seem to be nothing but good.]

I haven't been here long, so I wasn't sure.

[Sarea sighs, glances at her target, then looks backs at Talia, icy blue eyes meeting the older woman's hazel.]

Quitting cold-turkey like you're making him will make him sick at first. Then he'll probably be pissy as all hell. But... well, if he needs to quit, he needs to quit. If you need help with it, at any point, just gimme a shout, okay? Can't let my brother drink himself into the ground.

[Wolf draws an arrow and restrings the bow, trying to grin.]

Now, help, please?

[Talia is silent while the young woman studies her, keeping her entire form calm and collected. She knew the choice that she and Nel had made regarding Kevas was not one that everyone was likely to support. In truth, there was at least one individual that would likely see this as someone's freedom of choice being suitably removed from them, but that was something the Herald was willing to risk for her husband's well being.

She doesn't know Sarea well at all, but she had heard good things about her from Kevas while living on the ship and shore. If her troll was anything, it was supportive and utterly protective of his family and friends, of which he counted young Sarea.

She holds that attentive blue gaze unflinchingly and then nods when the younger woman speaks again.]

I helped him through a similar detox when we landed on the Shore... it was no less pleasant then, although the presence of alcohol here with prove its own challenge. I'm an empath, however, so not only will I share a part of what he is experiencing, I will be able to help a bit should he wish to let me.

[She exhales then and shakes her head slightly.]

If there had been another option, we'd have done so, but he left us with no other choice but to do this the hard way. [Then a soft smile touches her lips and her expression and posture relax.]

I appreciate the offer, Rea... I will certainly keep you updated on his current condition and let you know if you are needed. He will need the support of his friends, without question, once he gets past the general surliness. He will need them through the surliness as well.

[Then her lips curl and she grins smoothly, moving to stand alongside the girl.]

First your stance, then... One foot slightly ahead of the other, like this.

[She adjusts her own feet accordingly and waits for Sarea to do the same.]

I remember that, somewhat. I think I was to busy burying my brothers at the time to help.

[Sarea merely nods, sighing a little.]

I know, and I'm glad you'll be there for him, I'm sure it'll make things better.

I'll be there whenever he needs anything, I swear. He hasn't been able to chase me away yet.

[Wolf mimics Talias stance, adjusting a bit to make up for their height difference.]

Okay, like this?

[Talia smiles grimly, nodding in response to the first. Everyone upon the Shore had loved ones and friends that they had been forced to bury upon their arrival. It had been one of the worst experiences of her life and one she prayed was never experienced again.

Her smile warms considerably at Sarea's words, knowing that the younger woman will keep her word and be there is she is needed.

Then the lesson is going fully and she nods as Rea adjusts and stands the same as she is.]

Yes, very good. Now, when you draw, which will get easier and quicker with practice, I assure you, you'll want your arm to raise to shoulder height. Your arrow will fall rather close to your face, but you should respect your weapon, not fear it at any time.

[Again she waits for Rea to mimic the motion, her focus on the actions and teaching.]

[Wolf watches the other woman intently, not wanting to mess anything up. She vaguely remembers Jake saying you couldn't fear your weapon or you'd never learn, the same as Talia.

She mimics Talia's stance again, drawing as shown. She's glad the bows bigger, now; a smaller one probably wouldn't have lasted long against her lycan-strength.]

[Talia is pleased at how quickly Sarea takes to the learning and how well she is at taking direction. As the girl shifts her motions to stand as told, Talia comes up alongside and adjusts slightly the angle of her arm. She then nods, a smile touching her lips.]

Very good. Now again with an arrow... make certain to sight the arrow at the bow's center and to keep you arm firm. You will be aiming along the same line you make, so if it is off, so shall you aim be.

Take aim of the target, looking through to where you want the arrow to land. Treat the arrow as an extension of your own hand, the bow your arm... Don't think too much about it or fret if it's not perfect the first time.

[Sarea follows Talias instructions as closely as she can, not really minding when the other woman re-positions her arm a bit. She wanted to learn, and Talia is willing to teach; she'll listen to instruction for as long as she has to, in this case.

Wolf does as told and draws and arrow, getting back into the proper stance and eyeing the center of the makeshift target, squinting a little. Then she looses the arrow, hoping for the best and thrilled when it lands just to the left of the target.]

Hey, that's a lot better then what I was managing before! You really know what you're doing, Talia!
