Well... went to the clinic for 8:30am this morning, was supposed to go
through pre-clerking and clerking. Nothing happened until 9:15am when
one of my more frequent nurses pulled the strings for us so we could
meet one of the consultants.
The consultant just went through the motions for the laparoscopy with
laparectomy (removal of tube) or the "clip" thing, let me sign the
consent form and then ushered us to the other area (within the "Natal"
Unit - not really the cleverest layout in my opinion, is it??? :( ) to
get an appt for the laparoscopy.
When we asked about the payment she said the so common words (for us):
" Just pay the next time you come in." Well... I hope they make a note
of the fact we've tried to pay 3x now - really don't fancy getting a
reminder etc. through the mail!!!
Anyway - we had 2 OP dates available. One being the 20th December (too
close to my family visiting and to Christmas) and 17th January 2006. So
the latter is what we're down for now, in the hope that the "witch"
(i.e. my cycle) plays along and won't be there at that date!!!
Otherwise we have the same problem we had this year when I had my
diagnostic laparoscopy.
Still not feeling too good - somehow the abandonment of the IVF cycle
feels like a negative result - just with the fact that we didn't go
through the whole egg collection and transfer etc.
Friends are telling me that time will fly by during Xmas and New Year
and with my family around etc and that I will be "under the knife"
again within a blink. Afterwards it's just a wait to see when the
consultants deem me good enough to get back onto the IVF band waggon.
Fingers, toes and whatsoevers crossed that it will be before June!!!
