VID: Bad Things

Apr 21, 2011 15:55

Scenes:

1) As Rogue explains why she wants the cure, Logan realizes she's had all those things already -- with him.

2) Rogue, hair temporarily dyed Marie brown, is about to get it on with the boyfriend when Logan tells him to get out,

3) Logan remembers when he first smelled Rogue, how he was distracted enough to let his opponent get the jump on him in the cage but then really thrown-off by how young she ended up being. He tried to do the right thing and distance himself, but he ends up hurting her anyway.

4) Back in the present, Logan has been acting strange so Rogue, starting to suspect he wants her, plays coy: "Is there something going on that I don't know about?" Logan, still trying to be honorable, tells her, "You've got nothing to worry about." But he's always thinking of her. After her last date with Bobby, Rogue tells Logan she knows what his problem is -- "You're bored," and he laughs, because she's always had his number. She tells him she could leave the Mansion tomorrow and go off on an adventure with him, and they kiss. Only Bobby sees them, and Rogue reveals that she broke up with him. Bobby's response? "This is a school." Logan is all, FML.

5) Rogue meets Logan in the teacher's lounge, trying to make a joke out of the student-teacher naughtiness, but Logan's in self-denial mode. He apologizes even as he's choking on her pheromones, and she gets pissy when he calls her a kid. He says, "Maybe in a few years -- " and she storms off, "Great. You're all sentimental."

6) Logan thinks about his promise and the question Mystique asked -- "But what do you want?" Meaning, what did he expect to get out of playing hero for a not-so-little girl who he knew for a fact wanted him. If he really wanted to dissuade her, he wouldn't have given her so much hope -- the tags, the dismissal of her boyfriend, the not-your-father thing.

7) Disgusted but honest with himself, he meets Rogue at a club where he's obviously there to have a good time. But he starts to back down when he sees how much Rogue's been drinking. She stops him flat, sliding onto his lap and telling him, "Don't panic. No one here gives a shit." He gets a lap dance, but he's sick of her teasing him. "We have to go," he says. "Now." And Rogue just grins giddily.

8) Back at the Mansion, they discreetly go back to Logan's room and do bad things. He's trying to be gentle for her, but wanting him so much triggers her mutation again. She screams his name as he blacks out.

9) Logan has a horrible coma dream that she's Little Red Riding Hood and he's some kind of monster stalking her in the woods. He stabs her, but she turns it around on him, transforming into a monster herself and telling him, "I had no choice."

10) When he wakes up in the med lab, enough time has lapsed that Rogue has her streaks back and control over her mutation. He tells her he's sorry for hurting her, remembering how awful he felt when she flinched away from him in the truck. She scoffs at that, telling him that she hurt him -- not just with her mutation, but also by forcing him into a physical relationship when he wasn't ready. She tells him she has to go figure out her shit. Logan, confused but grateful she's not angry, lets her go.

11) It's been a while since anyone has seen Rogue, and Bobby's worried. Storm says, "She's coming back, she's just upset." Logan replies, "And I wonder why?" Indicating that the X-Men weren't so supportive about her getting the cure or about the Rogan-secret-relationship epic fail. Kitty and Bobby are like, Dude, seriously? She left because of you, not us. And Storm says flat-out, "Logan, she's seventeen." The longer Rogue is gone, the more guilty Logan feels about the whole thing.

12) Then, finally, Rogue shows up in his room, happy to see him and looking balanced. He tells her that the X-Men aren't ready for them to be more than friends, and Rogue replies, "Well, who cares what they think?" Logan and Rogue kiss, but before it gets heated again, he says, "Just be sure," and Rogue immediately replies, "It's what I want." Finally, Logan believes her, believes that she's mature enough to make her own choices, and the two of them surrender to their love or get to fucking, whatever you want to call it. The ending shot is Rogue looking directly at the camera, all, Haters gonna hate, but I got mine. Hee.
