Don't believe in luck or fortune. Not in this world, not in this day and age. Why would you need luck when you've got mutants who can shoot ice from their fingertips, red-hot beams from their eyes. When you've got mutants who can turn hard as a diamond and read your mind, kids who can walk through walls and fly.
I'm convinced that luck ain't the reason a lot of things happen around the Mansion. Especially where Frost is concerned. She can't be that good of a poker player on her own. I learned to stop tryin' to beat her years ago.
When you talk about fortune, you talk about money. I don't got a lot of it but I've got enough, from winnin' fights up North, to get me my own bike that way Slim'll stop gettin' on my ass about stealin' his for a night or two or three. Sure, I could just steal a bike one night when nobody's lookin', keep the money for myself, but that would be much too stereotypical.
The big, bad, hairy mutant monster with his big sharp claws and big white teeth, comin' in to rob from the humans in the middle of the night. We don't need worse of a rap in this world.
