Update? What's that?
lol. Yes I've been pretty bad at updating lately, and I do apologize for that! It's not that I don't have a lack of things to update it, but rather been busy to even bother XD
Great things have happened since my last update on.... A month ago. Basically, they started me on Geek Squad training since they needed more people as one or two were leaving for better jobs. That's all fine and good, and I was pretty sure they'd be keeping me up front to deal with the customers. That's just how it worked with new hires. They usually get the grunt work while those who've been working there for a while get dibs on the work in the back.
Well, due to some short handed days, the crew in the back [mostly just one or two people] began to ask me to help them in the back. I didn't think too much of it since the other new hire got to spend a couple days back there. But then my time in the back started getting more and more. Then one day, my manager walked back to the store with me after getting Subway for lunch and he told me that Travis and Kyle [the two guys in the back] love me. And that I was a blessing in disguise because I was getting the hang of everything so quickly. And the awesome words that followed were "I think I'm just gonna keep you in the back." My brain literally went "hal;dkngah" lol. So since then I've been in the back working and learning and doing my best to pull my weight.
Today... Shah [my manager] called me over to talk with me. Automatically I started thinking that maybe I made a mistake or that a client was unhappy with the work I did, or you get the picture. Noooooo. Couldn't be further from the truth. He called me over to tell me that he was bringing me on as an official Geek Squad Agent [instead of putting me in Computer Sales like was stated upon my hire]. But wait, that's not the best part... I GOT A RAISE TOOO. Since they brought me on as an official Agent, my salary goes up too. From $9.00 an hour, to *drumroolllllll* $11.64 an hour... Eleven motherfuckin sixty-four! But wiat... That's not all either. Shah told me he's gonna try to get me to full-time status so I can get benefits!
This is a rare opportunity for more new hires since Full-time status tends to go to those who've been working with the company for a few months at least. And most new hires don't get to be in the back-room all day. <33 Basically... I fucking love my job <3
