Halloween stores are ... a glee spree for me. Especially Halloween stores with a sense of creativity.
One such store has opened up in my home city. One corner was set up as a "meat shop", with body parts on Styrofoam trays wrapped in clear cellophane. Hee!
I also discovered some very nice werewolf gloves and hooved shoe covers. The gloves will need refurring, but the costume gloves actually fit my arms (a VERY rare thing!), and the latex fingertips are great! The latex is firm, with decently detailed molding and cleverly designed rough "pads" on the fingertips to help pick up items.
The hooves need no improvement that I know of yet! ROCK!
I was mightily disappointed in some "Beast Pants" that I'd found. They were furred pants with foam padding to give the illusion of nearly-digigrade legs. Had they used the fur that was pictured on the package, I would have been ecstatic. Shaggy light brown hair over the padded areas, dark brown fur everywhere else. Not so with the actual product... the furry areas were actually a broad mottling of dark and yellow-brown. It looked almost tie-dyed! I'd been intending, upon suggestion of a friend, to dress as a female faun... but with those pants, I would've had to be a 70's female faun!
I'm not that willing to flaunt classic mythology!
So now I am once again contemplating the daunting world of fursuiting, to be able to make the costumes I envision...
