"I've a subtle sense of humor...but it still exists. You have to have one when working in this place. You of all people should know that quite well."
Leading her down the hall I stuffed my hands in my pockets and kept silent as she attempted to play the role of know-it-all. So very cocky...
"Oh, and no. What I meant you're just a wee bit too young to know about. Of course if you really want to know, I'm sure you can check out a copy of the Kama Sutra around here somewhere. That's about a tenth of it. Well, of what you're thinking at least. Although personally, I found it a very disappointing read."
Rolling my eyes slightly I kept my pace as we approached the elevator and got on. I pushed the button for our desired level then crossed my arms and watched the lights illuminate in turn with each passing floor.
"Young? I'm a few millennia your senior Miss Morgan. This form could have been that of Bob Barker for any say that I had....which was none by the way. Thanks for the suggested Summer reading list... I've read it actually. Not much else to do in the White Room but read"
Stand. Sit. Stare at the vast whiteness... That was about it. Being down here was very different. An adjustment I'm not exactly sure I've fully made yet.
"Medical wing, this won't be pretty will it? Never is... So which do you prefer, name I mean?"
"You've been stabbed, bitten and decapitated...I'm sure anything this boy has planned wont be anything that drastic." Then again, she was dead for two out of three of those, and I had no clue what so ever what Knox had come up with. "You'll be just fine. If you behave maybe you'll even get a sticker. And Ram is good. Little Miss Chase can't be kept in the dark forever."
Speaking of, I wonder if that Bob guy was on the brink of committing suicide yet from having to deal with her.
The elevator 'pinged' as its doors opened to reveal the heart of Wolfram & Harts science department. Not one of my favorite locations in the building, but that didn't matter. Passing a few occupied offices I walked on then came to a stop beside the entrance of one.
"I believe this is your stop m'lady."
