I went to a woman today, a "field clearer," I guess. I don't really know what else to call her. She clears your energy field of unwanted energy, spirits, whatever, and calls in your divine guides to get rid of all the STUFF you're hanging on to...I felt so heavy, tired, and depressed when I got there, and left feeling light, cheerful, and energetic ( Read more... )

If you know how to speak/read French you can probably find old newspaper clippings - if it were the US I'd say go to a university and find old papers on microfiche, but I'm not sure how to go about that for records in a foreign country.

Congratulations, you're like the first person who didn't basically say that I was stupid for going to that woman. That's refreshing. ^_^

I know, I don't know how to do that either...My mom was like, "It's not worth it, you don't want to know about that stuff," and I'm like, "Actually, yes, I do." =P I dunno, someone told me that the...erm...New York Times? was international during that timeframe, and that it was probably covering stuff in France in English, too. But I dunno.

I don't know much about France in the thirties...I know that after the War, there were a fair number of English-language French papers because of the American's involvement in liberating them from Germany, but I'm not sure about pre-German invasion.

Do you have an idea of where south of Paris? Paris sits pretty far north in the country - there is a BUNCH of France that falls "south" of the capital city. Knowing a region of France or, even better, a town/village would narrow the search down immensely ( ... )

I definitely think you can do it on your own, but sometimes, you can't. I was in a really deep slump and I had no energy to get myself out of it, and I really needed the push of someone else. And this is a woman I have met before, and I really felt something at work when I had the session with her, and it was something very powerful and protective. And she didn't charge me an arm and a leg, so I'm not worried that she's just doing it to make tons of money off of me. If she had charged me like $150, that would be different. =P

Local papers always cover info on deaths/murders and have obituaries. You should, I think, do some research, both on the Internet and in a good old-fashion library (a college/university library would likely have better resources) and find out what English-language papers were operating in France during your target time-frame.

Librarians will probably actually be able to assist you as you look - just let them know you are looking into obituaries and death notices in France in 1930s, and your language abilities require them to be in English. A good librarian will (hopefully) have some ideas as to where you should start your research.
