Wow. So I'm subbing for EJ on Organic Compound (our electronic show (playlist here)) right now, and naturally I'm playing pretty much the kind of electronic music I usually play on my show, Motion Picture Soundtrack - that is to say, mostly pretty ambient stuff. So this guy calls asking about what I'm playing, and as I'm telling him, he asks "So, is this Motion Picture Soundtrack?"
"Uh, no. It's Organic Compound, actually, our electronic show - but I am the Motion Picture Soundtrack guy, I'm just subbing."
"Oh, cool, man. I love your show." etc. etc.

So that felt pretty good.

For some reason I'm still acting like I'm not taking a class. I haven't really been reading or studying, and I haven't started on this project we have due tomorrow night because I know it's easy - it's really just for us to get the hang of Makefiles, and I already nailed the makefile question on the homework this week. Whatever.

Italy vs. USA today was really exciting, but kind of painful to watch. The fact is, we got lucky - our only goal was a result of one of their defenders improperly deflecting the ball and kicking it into his own goal, and our keeper's only saves were barely good enough to stop Italy. I will side with the US on that red card, though - a late tackle is a yellow card if it's anything, and Italy must have gotten in 10 late tackles that the ref didn't even call penalties on. I will say, though, the US held it down extremely well for only having 9 men on the field, and their play overall was much better than against the Czech republic, most especially the offense, which was finally showing some agression. Still, it's hard when you're up against Italy's defense. It's pretty nice to have found a sport I enjoy watching so much, and it was a lot of fun watching the game at Little Italy (which was quite packed).

My work times are getting even worse this week - I have 6:35 and 7:00 AM report times. I would wake up closer to work time, but I feel like showing up for work to drive a bus drowsy would be a bad move.

EDIT: Super-random: apparently Jerry Fuchs, the new drummer for Maserati, used to play in The Juan Maclean's touring band! Bizarre.
