Wow! What a response! Thanks guys. So, the short version is, I think I'd like to start getting back into blogging again. 140 characters just isn't cutting it for me

I feel like I'm in a pretty similar boat, except in my case, the conflict is between being lazy, being social, and all the things I want to do on my own.
Lately, being lazy or working at home have been winning out, but ultimately neither of these is fulfilling. Neither of them bring me much happiness -- I want my apartment to already be cleaned, or that cool program to already be written, but I don't want to spend the time to get there. So I hang out in front of the TV, which doesn't make my life better.
Honestly there's not enough time in the day to be productive, social AND rested. (And let's not get started on healthy.)
And I totally agree with you on the digital world -- I almost never pay attention to IRC anymore, and I barely do IM (work excepted). I'll skim LJ, but I rarely have the energy or focus to post. I'm only writing this comment right now because I said I would and I don't feel like doing work. ;)
Besides, RL hugs are infinitely better anyway. *nod*
Especially in the Berkeley area, I can think of a few of us that feel similarly -- we all seem to want to be social, but so many other things get in the way. I think the key is deciding what's important, and then acting on that, even if it's not the "easiest" thing to do.
If you have time this weekend, let's hang out. My Sunday evening is busy, but otherwise I think I'm free.
