This weekend was great; I ended up doing fairly well on my final on Saturday, then going to Fairyland and
suiting up after all. Entertained some kids, and had a lot of fun.
So, after a marathon 36 hours up to finish the
write-up for my graduate computer science visualization class final project, I went to see a friend of mine perform stand-up comedy. That was a lot of fun, then I went home and slept more than 12 hours straight.
Also, I received the
very-cute art I commissioned from
kalika_tybera! It makes me very happy, and same for
ichi_black. <3
Today was supposed to be mostly about working on my CS graphics project, which I'm going to end up doing tonight. I also want to do a 2008 recap, but that's going to have to wait until the end of the week, as I have too much final studying to do right now.
What we did just now was bowling, at AMF Pinole Valley. We had a pretty good group come:
chaosmine, me (Dax), Des,
dogaidragon, Eric (Frost's brother), Erf, Fel,
frostdemn, Furox, and
procyonid. Next time I hope we can get more alphabetic representation!
Now, before, I had asked whether we could bowl in costume, and the guy said "no masks...we've had issues with robbery." So I printed up some pictures of fursuit bowling gathered from a google search.
After we bowled, I went up to the guy who helped us and said "I called and asked about masks, but we were really hoping to bowl in costumes like these", and he said "yeah, I know, you're furries." That floored me. "I worked at Pride, and did security there." Oh. "You'll have to talk to this guy." So I talked to general manager Robert, and showed him the pictures, including
one from Uck's birthday bowling party in March. "Where was this?" Santa Clara. "Moonlite Lanes?" Yes, actually. "I trained there." Oh, neat! "Sure, I think this would be okay. Just call and ask for Robert, we'll set up a time for you." SCORE! I think I might become the custodian of once-a-month fursuit bowling...alternating between Pinole and Fremont, for a change of pace and so that people don't have to travel quite so far every month.
Now, about the poll. Because I update so infrequently, I figured that I could at least post my Twitter updates via LoudTwitter. Now that the semester's over, and now that I have a nice new Flickr account to which I can post large pictures en masse, I figured I could actually start posting real content more often! But with that, my reason for using LoudTwitter disappears. So, you get to vote over its fate.
Poll Should I ditch the LoudTwitter? BREAKING NEWS: A- in my visualization class! Awesome.
UPDATE: Unless you tell me otherwise, I'm putting my tweets on an opt-out filter, and automatically removing people who already follow me on there (or who vote YES in the above poll). I will NOT be insulted if you ask to opt out, so please don't hesitate.
