I, like many people, would like to post here more often. Laziness, life, lack of creativity are all factors that contribute to my lack of posting but mostly it's that I feel I have nothing all that interesting to say. I'll try not to let that stop me, considering this journal can be as much for me to read in the future as it is for others to read now. Anyway, here goes nothin'...
Had a good time at Midwest Furfest in December, despite the chlorine incidetnt orchestrated by POS asshats who should be dropped into the nearest active volcano. Furpocalypse, aka The-Con-Formerly-Known-As-Furfright, was a different story. It was nice to see old friends again and share a few laughs, but I am sad to say the chances of me returning are very slim. It's nothing to do with the con name change, staff or anything like that; there was just something missing (in addition to heaps of dollars it costs to get me there). I think MWFF is going to be my only annual con for the forseeable future.
I am still very much enjoying the mobile home I bought 17 months ago, strange as that may sound. The space and privacy compared to the condo are wonderful, not to mention the money savings. This place truly feels like my home, where the condo felt temporary. A few months back I picked up a new, big-ass treadmill for my big ass. It's nice to have room to use it properly without disturbing people living below me as was the case in the condo. I was long overdue to watch the tv show "House" so it's my treadmill distraction lately. 45 minutes passes quickly when you're enjoying watching Hugh Laurie being a sarcastic bastage. :)
In other news, I had a very special visitor just after Christmas and into the new year, so now it's my turn. There was a very good deal on Air Transat with direct flights from Calgary to London (yes, the one in England) so off I go to the old country in May for two weeks. Two weeks. Twwwwooooo weeeeeeeks. I recently watched a great movie called The Trip and we'll be doing a little road trip to a lot of the same areas in northern England that are shown in the film. Really looking forward to seeing R again.
In closing, I wanted to mention the David Lynch song I have listed as my current music. This version is performed by Mindy Jones and it's amazing. Makes me feel high even if I'm not. ;)
Give it a listen!
