I have a messed up sense of humor. Its part of who I am, Like a foot or a brown hair color. While generally this runs the gamut of bizarre non sequitors (Fish Spectrum class wrestlers in corduroy face-masks ftw!) or the brutally sadistic (She fell funny) the subject of my story has to do with puppets ( Read more... )

It's always interesting to me to listen to ppl go on about the military - experienced or not. There's so many who seem to think they can do no wrong, that you support it no matter what. It's always very hard for me to remember that even if I disagree completely with a military action, that it's NOT the fault of the soldier. I try to remember to support THEM, at least. But I see a lot of what you describe, and it makes me sick. How am I expected to support someone who agreed to kill other people so they could avoid staying at home and being a father, for example?

I doubt I'll ever get it. I just shut up and stay inconspicuous.
And attribute it to one of those 'society' things that makes no sense to me. I should have been a cat, I swear.

Militarism I think is one of the easier concepts to understand. That might just be me though. You see,.. people are horrible. And a certain percentage of them,.. foreign and domestic, have this whole 'capacity for violence' thing going on. It basically means that they are able to hurt others. Hurting others in and of itself is not a bad thing. It's something you can see active in the natural world, even in your precious kitties. Mortal creatures die at some point and it can be selectively useful to have some influence on being able to speed up the demise of others (or at the very least to slow down the attempts at others). It is a morally neutral thing in and of itself though. Killing is neither an evil thing nor a good thing (the reason behind it being the determination between those two poles ( ... )
