Fed through the tube that sticks in me . . .
So yeah. Went to work today, as always. Turned out it wasn't bad at all - walked over to the Chicago Legal Clinic to take care of some stuff, came back, went back to intake. We had a remarkably sane, calm and reasonable bunch today - I don't know how that happened. After work, hit the L back to mum's office and drooped there for a while. Had lunch of chili. Headed over to Randhurst Mall (as opposed to Woodfield, the default mall) and wandered around a store then got hair trimmed. Went home and changed into human clothes, yay! Shirt - AC/DC Back in Black; Pants - black jeans; combat boots; pentacle. Somewhere along this someone in my family took one look at me and said "You look like a Nazi." Apparently it's something with the way I'm wearing my boots . . . *shrugs* And the fact that I'm wearing boots probably exxagerates my normal style of motion - parade rest, attention, marching. Yes, I move like a soldier. Deal.
Party for Wolf - she's going to visit Chaos for a week, leaving tomorrow unless I'm mistaken. The three bloody sisters of Discordia all in one place, doom is upon the inhabitants! If the "other" Chaos was there too, Dubya'd probably declare a state of emergency and evacuate the bloody state.
Oh, and I was told to quote myself on something I said to a TV commercial for a kid's cartoon-type channel of some sort: "AAAAH! It's all Anime, how absolutely horrible!!! What's happened to my country? . . . I'm going to crawl back to the culture of my ancestors. . . . I'm German, not Japanese!!"
For future reference: I don't like Animes, purely on principle. Anime is fine as long as it's a piece of art or a story being recounted to me, but . . . I have this big thing about me being a part of my own culture and not someone else's. Historically, cultures that are absorbed in others are either conquering peoples who have lost power but remain in the territory or peoples who have been overwhelmed by a stronger nation. Western ideology, western music, western art, western tongues, and western culture as a whole are MINE and will not be replaced by those of foreign blood. Others may keep their culture - in fact, it is supported by society - and I demand retention of my own culture, ethnic identity, and rights. I demand equality, not affirmative action, whether the context be schooling, culture, or representation.
