Okay, so yesterday started off as planned. I picked housing yesterday morning and we got one of the last rooms in McMahon!! And it was mainly because the girls behind me were too stupid to get in line by their random number. Not my problem though, their loss = my gain. Yeah, it's on the 7th floor, but it won't be so bad. At least there won't be anyone above us to make noise. So yeah, and then I had lunch with Joe and made fun of a very hungover Ben (who I love to DEATH for the favor he did me yesterday!!), and then went over to work. I ran into Susan at the end of my shift, and we went over to this Honda Element thing in the middle of campus that some marketing class was putting on. There was free food and stuff and I'd heard they were giving away NFG/GC passes so I was like, why not. This is where the day started to not go as planned. We found out that to get tickets you had to come up with a sales pitch for the car, so we were like um, that's kind of going to take effort and we probably won't get it anyway, but then they kept encouraging us and harassing us, so we were like, okay then, let's really do this. So we sat down and for like 20 minutes worked on this sales pitch, which was fucking awesome. And we wrote it down for them and everything, and they were like, "No one all day has worked as hard as you guys have or even taken this seriously, so if you guys can make the show tonight, we've got two VIP passes and tickets and they're yours." So we were like, omigod thank you. And they were like, "Well, we're going to vote on all the pitches later, and we'll let you know about the tickets for Saturday." We found out later that we won those too. So now we have 8 tickets, 4 VIP passes, and 5 people going to Saturday's show... riiight. I really don't care as long as I'm on the floor for NFG. Oh, but anyway, our winning sales pitch:
Denied on-campus housing? Not a problem if your ride to school is the Honda Element. More spacious than the average dorm room, and with fold down seats, there's plenty of room for overnight guests. Play your MP3s as loud as you want without disturbing the kids studying downstairs. Drink spills are easy clean up, too, with water-resistant wipe down seats and utility floor. And how many dorm rooms have you seen with a removeable skylight? The Honda Element: the best ride--and dorm room--on campus.
Yes, I'm so very proud. I never win anything, especially based on merit. I think I definitely put more work into that pitch than I have into all my school work combined this year. haha So yeah, after we got our tickets, we flipped out a bit, and then ran to transpo to get me out of my ILot shift, since we needed to leave asap for the meet-n-greet. Thankyouthankyouthankyou, Ben, for taking my shift! You're the best!! It was all really organized when we got there, but they gave us pictures for NFG to sign and they took nice group shots with us and them that they're going to send to us. They were all goofing off and funny and Jordan had his arms around us and was singing, "Put your head on my shoulder..." hehehe It was great! But not as great as the show. Okay, all the middleschoolers are annoying and it was crowded, but all the bands were so good. Good Charlotte definitely put on the best show I've seen them put on. And New Found Glory was amazing! AND AND AND..... THEY PLAYED "DRESSED TO KILL"!! I've seen them twice before and they haven't played that! I was sooooo excited! I can't wait to be on the floor for them on Saturday. But there was a lot of parking lot traffic so we didn't get back to UConn until almost 1:00. Amie was done drinking, and Joe didn't pick up his cell phone, so I didn't drink... *sigh* I just sat online like the cool person that I am until 3:00 AM. I woke up this morning, didn't go to any classes, ate breakfast with Amie, was apathetic about the parking ticket I got (damnit, it ruined my streak of no tickets), and I went to make my schedule at transpo for finals, and was overwhelmed by the amount of hours available, and bitched with Jim about how we feel burned by not getting *any* of the promotions we applied for, and then I did a psych experiment on condoms... so yeah, today has been considerably less exciting. I should go home now and shower and get ready to go to Bryant, where I fully intend on making up for my lack of drinking tonight. :)
