Happy New Year (if I can get there)!
So I would be on my way to nyrclooch's new year's eve party but some drunk (I'm assuming) jackass crashed into a gas line at the front of our apartment complex, so now they're not letting anyone in or out. So I'm stuck here, and I'll try again in a few minutes, but until them I'm here on the couch, watching the Twilight Zone marathon on SciFi and am drinking tea. I'm okay with this because I've been sick all day. Really kind of hoping it's not strep... all I need is to start the new year sick as a dog.
Anyway, I'll use this unexpected free time to do a for-real review of 2007.
Highlights: getting good grades in my classes, Amie's wedding, Megan's wedding, Grand Chapter Congress, Dragon*Con, becoming RVP, seeing Mandy Moore in concert, UMass Amherst finally getting their act together, meeting Kristen Bell, getting promoted and a sizable raise at work, reading the Harry Potter books, seeing Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal in RENT, sticking to my resolutions for the most part, and finally getting to see Bill Mumy in concert.
Low points: the cancellation of Veronica Mars, Jason and then Gaz and then Emily leaving PERT, going into more debt instead of paying it off, spending most of the year stressed or depressed or both, and my dad's death.
I know the highlights list seems way bigger than the low points, but I think some of the ones on the low points are pretty big and therefore I think 2007 balanced out to a whole lot of "meh". I am really really hopeful for 2008 though. I think it's going to be a good one. And I'm going to go see if I can ring it in somewhat properly. Have a safe and happy new year's eve, everyone!
