A few thoughts

So in the past few days, been reading a lot about personal beliefs and what not about different things, especially sexuality. I try to always respect what others believe, as long as they are respectful towards me. It occurs to me though, that I haven't made my side of the story known, and I have as much right as anyone to do so :P ( Read more... )

believing that abortion should be legal is not saying it's right. it's saying that in situations it is necessary. i send you back to my hypothetical situation, love. people who are pro-choice are NOT pro-abortion. they just believe that it's not our business to tell people what they can and cannot do. is keeping abortion legal going to stop people from doing it for the wrong reasons? no. never.

but i pull you back to what you said about it not being okay for people to restrict your rights as a gay man. if you should be allowed to be with another man, i should, if the need arose, be able to choose to abort MY OWN unborn child. would i? no. but i have no RIGHT conversely to tell some one they can't.

stop and take a look at your position. your arguements reek of hypocrisy. the government can't tell you who you can marry, but they can tell some one that they can't do as they see fit with their body. is it killing a life? yes. but is having that baby going to kill a life as well? not just physically, but emotionally?

we're christians, cory. our job is not to tell people what they can and cannot do. it is to nuture and witness to the gospel with OUR OWN choices, not to voice in a public forum that the choices that others are making are wrong. just because we don't agree with it, does not mean it's wrong. the judgement of people's choices is up to two people. the person. and god. and last i checked, you're not having a baby anytime soon.
