I had the chicken tikka masala a la carte meal so I didn't get all the extras. I'm a very picky eater so my choices were down to that or the butter chicken, which my friend said was really good. I'm impressed that I haven't regretted eating it yet. I might have to go back to that place again soon.
Something else to try that is probably a little easier on your stomach is something called Daal. It's a lentil stew. Very flavorful and wonderful when you scoop it onto some garlic naan bread.
Chicken Tikka Masala isn't indian. It was invented in a Birmingham (UK) restaurant when a customer realised that chicken tikka is 'dry' and demanded gravy.
I hear what you're saying, but I personally have never made a distinction between native Indian and colonial era-inspired Indian cuisine. If it's in an Indian restaurant, it's Indian to me.
Safe and yum indian = chicken tikka masala served over vegetable pakora and some nice garlic naan.
Can't miss. Hope you won't need chapstick.
