Bloody Red Apples
_________Once upon a time there was a luscious and green Garden of Eden where there lived two people. One of them was a beautiful woman with long, flowing hair and brilliantly sparkling eyes named Eve and one was a very handsome man named Adam. Adam and Eve loved each other so much that they never parted ways with each other and always sat cradling one another in their arms. However, there was a problem in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were starving to death because God had forbidden them to eat any of the fabulous magical fruits.
_________Adam lay dying in Eve’s arms, wasting away to nothing while Eve cried softly. Every moment Adam and Eve grew thinner, but Adam was dying quicker than Eve was. So, Eve said to Adam, “I will never be without your love. I will never let you die.” And so, Eve ripped her heart out of her chest and thrust it towards Adam saying, “Eat this and restore yourself to your previous glory, Adam. I love you forever.” And with that, Eve dropped to the grass, dead.
_________Adam stared in wonder at the juicy heart in his hand and back at his love, dead on the floor. He was dumbfounded that she would give her life to save him. He took one bite of the sweet and juicy heart, which made him instantly healthier, however, he felt so deeply saddened that Eve was dead that he could not go on. He knew that he could not live without Eve. So, Adam pushed the whole heart into his mouth and tried to swallow, choking himself. Eve’s heart stuck in Adam’s throat and he died. The two lovers lay dead in the grass, side by side. And that is why men have Adam’s apples.
