well, i'm supposed to be back in the states in late july or early august, but i'll be in colorado, and i don't know when i'll get back to PA. but we'll see how things work out.
I grew up in Pagosa Springs, CO but currently live in Flat-Ass Fort Worth, TX. I miss CO.
You would have loved Colorado, Michael. I hope that you can see it's wintertime beauty when you look down.
Rest in peace in the arms of the Goddess, dear soldier, and may you be given your full due for a job well done.
Gone but not forgotten Remembered, eternally honored Tears from those you don't even know Those who weep at being denied Forever bereft of your shining light May its warmth ever linger May you always be remembered Rest in deepest peace, dear soldier Your job is done Your life was robbed So premature But you left your mark Be rest assured You do not leave us behind in vain
I knew Mike for about a half a year through his journal, but you obviously knew him much better. I was still stunned to hear from timesofgrace about what happened though. Mike can't be hurt now, but I'm so sorry for your loss. He sounded like a wonderful friend.
I made a bit of a memorial post over at my journal and at insideiraq, where many of the soldiers who are a part of the community are remembering him. As of this morning, there are something like 130 comments in his last journal entry, too. It's incredibly tragic, but his loss will not be easily forgotten.
I wish you and your friends all the best through this difficult time.
anyway, when DO you come back to the states?
