9 to 5

So last night Brett and I took a trip to Saginaw to the Lawn Chair Film Festival. We saw Wallace and Grommit: the Curse of the WereRabbit. It was really good. It's pretty rough to watch it thinking about the fact that it takes them a day to create 3 seconds of usable footage. Yikes.

I started reading a new book today. Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. It's about a Greek intersexed boy growing up in suburban Detroit. It's quite good so far, but i'm only about 20 pages in. It's a long one. House on Mango Street was good. Very simple, but very sad in an innocent way.

Work has been tiring the past few days. We had a glimmer of hope yesterday because we got a new CD. The machine ate it about half way through. So its back to the one we've been listening to since May. Also, this is pretty sweet. The lights are on a timer now, so they start to turn off after the store closes. Nothing like folding shirts in the dark for an hour.

However, Saginaw Valley Residential Life celebrities Amy Shurlow and Corey Malloch came into Gap today for some light shopping. It was a good time and I got to see Amy's driver's license picture.

Finally, remember how I was forming that addiction to Steel Magnolias? Well, I can only assume part of that is Dolly Parton, because I've been listening to her music all day, and I only want to listen to it more. It can't be all bad, though. Dolly is a boss. She has a theme park. (Incidentally, i've been there. It's fantastic.)Bobby and I also had a dead serious discussion on who's version of "I Will Always Love You" is better. Whitney or Dolly? We called it a draw.

Those things are unbelievable. Christ.
In case you think that picture is just an optical illusion, let's look again.

Yeah. That's what I thought. There is this 3D IMAX ride at Dollywood. Just imagine those things 30 ft high and coming right at you. Now we know what killed the Dinosaurs.
