Update, pimping myself for charity and vid meme
It's probably a good thing I didn't make "updating my lj more often" a NY resolution because yeah. Still doesn't seem to be happening.
But here I am and here's an actual update. I got lots of lovely cards from lots of people and I thank all of you. Especially though whimsicalnotion for the Jaffa Cakes! (OMG love those), maygra for the cookies and the wristband thingy, and stageira for the flying pig key chain. :D
I got a letter from the Canadian Revenue Service today saying they'd reassessed my tax return and discovered that I had almost five hundred dollars extra coming in refund. Which they have just deposited into my bank account. Yay, surprise money! That kind of letter from the government I don't mind getting at all. :)
I'm trying to write a little every day, keeping up the momentum I got from doing mini-nano and then the holiday fic things I did. I haven't mentioned every day but I'm managing enough that I'm happy with myself.
And, with that progress, I felt confident enough to ho myself out for Sweet Charity. They're doing a special auction for WG Industry Support Fund -- a fund to help out those being affected by the strike. I'm offering up a Supernatural fic of at least 1,000 words to the winning bidder's specifications. (Only Supernatural because that's pretty much where my muse is stuck right now.) I'm also offering a vid, winning bidder to pick the song/concept/theme/characters/etc as they wish and I'm offering up pretty much any fandom I have source available for and enough knowledge of to be able to work with. So if there was ever something you wished me to write or vid for you, you'll get your chance. Bidding starts Jan 18th.
And speaking of vidding, sdwolfpup has put up The Great Vidding Truth meme. You can leave anonymous comments for vidders with what you like/dislike/critique/etc about their vids. My thread is here if you have anything you want to say about mine. :)
