Not doing these in any particular order beyond which ones I get ideas for first...
Five times a Summers girl groomed a Winchester boy or vice versa
1. Dean struggled with the wriggling puppy in the bath. "Hold still will ya? I thought all girls liked bubble baths."
The puppy yipped back at him and wriggled some more.
Dean sighed and took a firmer grip with one hand, working shampoo into her fur with the other. "It's your own fault y'know," he continued. "I told you to stay off the counter, that you were going to knock something over. And I couldn't very well give you back to Dawn covered in chocolate syrup could I?"
The puppy made a mournful sound, but did slow the wriggling down to a speed less than vibrate which made her easier to hold onto.
"Tell you what. I'll use the blow dryer u to dry your fur and see if I can find a nice ribbon for you," Dean offered. "Think of it less as a dog bath and more as a spa treatment for the puppified. How does that sound?"
The puppy seemed to consider that, then yipped once, staring intently at Dean with wide puppy eyes.
Dean sighed. "And we'll play a rousing game of fetch the shoe when we're done."
Buffy barked happily and wriggled out of Dean's grip long enough to go up on her back legs and lick Dean's face, incidentally getting Dean almost as wet as she was.
"Yeah, yeah, I like you too," Dean said, catching her again and returning her to the bath to rinse the soap off.
Dog sitting. The things he did to help his brother's love life. Sammy was going to owe him big for this.
2. Dean loved Dawn's hair, loved the way it caught the light, loved the way it felt sliding through his fingers. So when he offered to brush it for her, it had less to do with doing something nice for his girlfriend and more to do with having a legitimate reason to play with her hair. The little smile Dawn gave him when she handed him the brush made him think he wasn't fooling anyone.
3. Dawn hadn't meant to go quite so far. But Sam had been sleeping unusually soundly thanks to a night out drinking with his brother and Dawn had kept promising herself she was only going to do one more thing...
Dawn stepped back and admired her work giggling silently. Sam's fingernails were painted a bright pink and his face was made up with the works -- eye-shadow, blusher, lipstick. The capper though was the little pony tail that she'd made out of his bangs, standing straight up from his head.
Dawn wondered if she could get him to believe it was roaming gremlins with a make up fetish. Hey, this was Fandom -- there'd been weirder things, right?
4. Sam had been wonderful helping Dawn with her hair since she'd injured her arm, helping her wash it and braiding it for her to keep it neat and out of the way. He quickly got adept at it, weaving the strands of her hair together while telling her stories designed to make her laugh and Dawn learned to relish those times together.
A week after she'd had the cast removed and had resumed doing her own hair, Dawn handed Sam her brush and ties for her braids with a questioning look. The smile Sam gave her when he took them was the best part of all.
5. "You sure you don't mind?" Sam asked Buffy worriedly.
"Absolutely," Buffy replied with a big smile. "You guys go on your date -- everyone should be able to go out on their anniversary. Dean and I will be just fine, won't we?" She looked down at the elder Winchester. "We can give you a makeover! Paint your toenails, brush out your coat, and Oh! We definitely need to get a bow for your tail. Trust me, when we get done you'll be the most stylish wolf ever!"
Sam chuckled as Buffy led his transformed brother off. "Don't forget to take pictures!" he called after her, ignoring the look of horror that Dean shot over his shoulder at him.
Who knew wolves' eyes could be so expressive?
