i'm never sure these days if anyone is reading my journal. i've dropped to posting very infrequently, and so i wouldn't be surprised if the readership has dropped accordingly ( Read more... )

I read your journal every time I check LJ. I'll try to comment more. I often am not sure anyone reads mine either :)

Atonement is important, yes. There are a lot of suggestions that come to mind for 2009 but the one I most want to share with you is this: Forgive yourself - whether it be for mistakes big or small. Be easier with yourself. Offer the same kindness, support, encouragement and enjoyment to yourself that you give to others. Open yourself up to all the love and acceptance and joy that others feel for you.

Beyond that ... do things that make you feel alive. What resources you? In school, that was a frequent question - what re-sources you, recharges not just your energy but your soul, your connection to yourself, others, the earth.

Dance! Create! Hug! Laugh! Comfort! Let your picture be taken. Let someone you love and trust see you in all your states and moods. Learn or try something new. Be welcoming to newcomers and be willing to teach or guide. Love like every minute is precious, because it is ...

And maybe take up snowshoeing or kayaking :)

None of these suggestions are meant to imply that you don't already do some of these things. :) Ok to unscreen ...

i could have said the same thing: i read *your* journal every time i check LJ, and i'll try to comment more often, too.

beyond that: let's make good on the tea-and-cookies idea sometime when you're in town, and go from there. i love the question about what re-sources one... that's a great way to think about it. although i do some things, i don't do the ones that i know of which really work often enough, and i'm not sure i've found very many things that do really work. certainly not enough, on either count.
