knitting project complete!
hooray! my second project, and honestly my first "big" project, is finished! it's a scarf made in this pattern, and in this yarn, in the denim color. in real life, it looks like a silvery periwinkle -- a favorite color of mine. it's blocking right now. i can't wait to take out the pins and take a real look at it! it's been a lot of fun to make -- mostly accomplished during the twice-daily commute distance. it is a present for someone who i've grown to love over the last few years, the person who has opened up her house to me over the past several christmases. i'm seeing her in two days -- i look forward to giving the scarf to her. (i'll take and post pics to ravelry before i wrap it up. :) )
the next project is something i've had in mind for some time, now -- a stocking hat sampler, made from various different yarns that i've splurged on. i just bought cable needles and i'm planning to begin playing a bit over the holiday weekend. unlike the first two projects, this one will be for me. :)
