I could very well be mistaken in saying this.
One of the founding reasons for enacting the Patriot Act was to spy on immigrants in the United States; this will in some way prevent terrorism.
I have been going through some archives. It is interesting to note that in large part, the Senate and Congress both agree that if any planning takes place, it will not take place in the United States. I became curious after listening to the Vice Presidential debate.
Joe Biden said, "If an attack comes in the homeland, it's going to come... as our security services said... it's going to come from Al-Qaeda planning in the hills of Afghanistan and Pakistan."
I think Joe Biden is often wrong about things. He believes Global Warming is a man-made problem. Funny.
Perhaps we do agree on something, at least in part; ya, I don't believe in the Global Warming thing.
It is atrocious that we spend any money based on speculation. The Patriot Act is a mistake. It serves our country no real gains. It grants law enforcement more pull. There was enough foreign intelligence there without having to spy on every man, woman and child int he United States. If you go online and look for instructions on how to make an explosive, you can be put in jail without the possibility of release for as long as OUR GOVERNMENT sees fit. I write a lot of so-called "unpatriotic" blogs. To our government, I'm probably nothing more than some low-life rebel. I create instability in our society by complaining. I keep asking people, "What has the Patriot Act done for you? That's what I thought. Nothing." Joe Biden argues against the Patriot Act; albeit, he doesn't argue directly against it, but he voted for it. I'm going to exaggerate here:
If you write a bill that says, "We will kill you if you kill another human being in cold blood."
You are for the Death Penalty. That part of the bill is fine.
But if it goes on to say:
"Additionally: We will kill your family, too, for the crimes you have committed."
Obviously, you don't agree with that part of the bill.
YOU DO NOT FUCKING VOTE FOR IT
I have a hard time believing that our elected officials voted on the Patriot Act despite the fact they didn't agree with everything that was written in it. Our parents and grand-parents have elected some retarded people.

Under the Patriot Act, law enforcement can seize any politically controversial material off your server or the entire server, itself. Thus far, Copyright Infringement laws are being used instead of force. Go GOOGLE "Youtube Videos removed." There are a lot of legitimate removals. What about the home-made movies with text? I realize Youtube has the right to remove anything they want, but why would they devote so much time in removing these home-made videos unless someone were either threatening or paying them.
