Sergeant "Whitepaws" - While no longer a sergeant in the police force of Walstad, the nickname 'sarge' has stuck with the Don. His real name is not actually Giovanni, and Zampe is simply something he picked up to have something put on the fake papers he's used for getting a job. Like the rest of the clan he has no 'real' name, simply a series of titles he's used so that others outside of the clan have something to call him. Cutting a fearsome silhouette, he has intentionally crafted a terrifying public persona, becoming the iron fist of the police force and acting more on his own personal sense of justice than that of the corrupt local government. Seemingly a loose cannon that can only barely be kept in check by his superiors, the story is that they're more afraid to get rid of him than to keep him where they can see him. He likes to encourage these rumors. His scarred face is usually twisted into a terrifying and condescending sneer that displays most of his incredibly sharp teeth, his words spoken with a deep growl that puts a heavy inflection on his 'r's.

The real story of his scars come from his courtship with his mate, and while it seems incredibly violent by non-wolf standards, it is a very loving and passionate relationship. Sarge is the only one who can keep his mate calm when she's deep in her quiet rages, he is her rock and her foundation and if one or the other of them was hurt or killed, it would trigger a killing frenzy that would be nearly impossible to stop.

He was also the main caretaker of their children, having a weakness to his children and showing a startlingly affectionate and warm side in stark contrast to his public persona. He will play roughly with them, and often greet them with a good scruffing, but this is because he is asserting his dominance and challenging them to a battle of superiority. He is also the main enforcer of his mate's will, though when it comes to discipline, he is often the one to hold back and stay his hand in favor of discussing the situation unless the infraction is dire or could bring catastrophe on the family.

It's said that he could crush a man's head with his bare fist, and bench presses small cars for warmups. However whether or not this is true is up for debate.

She Who Must Not Be Mentioned - The true driving force behind the family, Rosalina Zampe is the donna of the clan, inspiring fear in her enemies and anxious respect in the lower-ranked members of the pack. Seeming cold and cruel, she is vicious in combat and does not hide her paranoia and hatred of the ones responsible for the condition of the pack members and subsequent deaths of her children and siblings. While she is cold and quick to strike, her cold fury and violent outbursts are actually more of a front than her true personality. The more aggressive she is, the more she is trying to hide her fear and worry. She lashes out at her children in domination displays to make them stronger, rationalizing that the more she pushes them and the harder she fights them, the more likely they are to grow stronger in an attempt to win and the more likely they are to survive in the wild.

The responsibility for keeping the pack alive long enough to find a cure and return home to the forests rests heavily on the donna's shoulders, and is a deep source of pain and emotional turmoil for her. She's lost several children and many family members due to the harsh environment in Walstad and the instability brought on by the magical tampering with their genetics. This has often kept her up at night, pacing restlessly as she struggles with how to move the family forward. Having to put on a facade of strength in front of the rest of the pack, the only one she can speak to freely about her fears and anxieties is her mate, who soaks up everything she says and offers his advice and quiet emotional strength. As she sees tears as a weakness, she will never admit to how many nights she's spent mourning her lost family and the seeming hopelessness of their search for a cure. Still, she refuses to give in to those thoughts, preferring to push past it.

After all, if she gave in, it would mean the death of her pack. That ending is one she refuses to accept, she's fought too hard for too long for her children to survive, she refuses to accept defeat in anything now.

Her children and lesser members of the pack are actually hesitant to mention her by either name or title, for fear that she will drop her camouflage behind them and drop them to the ground. The donna encourages this. She is known for her speed and ruthelessness in combat, leading a few members of the pack as a small-time street gang that works as a kind of renegade law enforcement.

Gioseppe "Patches" Zampe - The eldest of the surviving children of the don and donna and the firstborn male, Patches almost didn't survive his first day. Born with a birthmark that covers a large part of his face and some of his neck and shoulder, he was the first born after the incident, and the wolf clan had never seen a cub of theirs with markings like his. Concerned with how sickly he was as an infant, the donna considered euthanizing him because she didn't want a sickly cub to suffer while they struggled in the new society they found themselves in. As if knowing what he faced, Patches grew to be incredibly aggressive as he grew older, going out of his way to become strong enough to prove the family that he could--and would--overcome his physical weaknesses to grow into the status of the next in line as alpha.

Naturally bookish and cunning, Patches (who hates the nickname as it only digs in the fact that he is so very different from the rest of the clan) excels in mathematics and sciences as opposed to the physical prowess of the other clan members. He has successfully infiltrated a private organization in his search for a magical or scientific method to return the pack to their proper forms. Skilled with computers, disguise, and forgery, he's the one the family goes to when they need fake identification. He was the first to learn how to use things like nanopaste to disguise their features at a young age, using it to hide not only his wolfish traits, but his birthmark as well. Until he takes his place as alpha, he cannot take a mate, but finds this to be to his advantage, as he finds human and elvish females to be irritating and disgusting (though this might be his attempts at denying any attraction to save himself from accidentally lifebonding with someone who doesn't hold the same regard to mating as the wolves do).

Patches is prone to scuffle with any family members he runs across to prove his place as the most dominant of the don and donna's cubs, and so far he has won most of them since reaching adulthood. Still, despite his surly and cold reactions to most of his siblings (a trait he inherited from his mother) he is actually reluctantly affectionate to them, having babysat most of them when they were younger. Mika is closer to him in a way, as she was the runt and was put through more as a result, with less success than he was. While he is short with her verbally, she tends to cling to him and would often shove herself into his lap when she was small. She still has a habit of draping herself across his shoulders while he works on his computers, but despite how much he growls or how irritated he sounds when she does it, he actually doesn't mind. Too much, at least.

While he trained rigorously to become strong enough to take on his packmates and win, Patches' true strength lies in his mind and skill with computers and science. He is more comfortable surrounded by books and immersed in the Matrix than he is fighting, but it is a dire mistake to attack him and think that he will be a pushover.
